Welcome to Priory Nursery!
In the Nursery we learn through our play and we follow the ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’ Framework. This framework has 7 areas of learning and we plan a range of activities from across the curriculum and we also promote the children’s self-initiated play or play based on their interests. The 7 areas of the curriculum are:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Physical Development
- Communication and Language
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
We have 2 sessions and 5 staff:
- Mrs. Bate (Nursery Leader)
- Mrs. Hill
- Miss Luffman
- Miss Evans
- Mrs. Featherstone
- Mrs. Glister
- Miss Bosher
The morning session is from 8.30 – 11.30 and the afternoon session is from 12.30 – 3.30.
Throughout the year we will use a range of topics and focus books to base our activities on and as well as free-play, both inside and outside, there will be focused carpet sessions. The sessions will be topic related, phonics, shared reading and maths.
Nursery is your child’s first step into education as well into Priory, so not only do we want the children to add to their existing knowledge and learn new skills, we also want both you and your child to have lots of enjoyable experiences with us!
