School Meals

We are passionate about providing our children with a healthy, well balanced lunch to help them achieve academically, physically and to establish life-long good eating habits. Our food is made from scratch using the best possible ingredients including Red Tractor meat, free range eggs, MSC fish and lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and provides extremely good value at £2.20 for a main meal and a pudding which includes fruit and bread. Even better – lunch is free for Key stage 1 children and all children in these year groups are expected to have a school lunch. We can (and do) accommodate those with food allergies and other dietary requirements such as vegetarians or specific religious requirements including HMC halal.

Parents of children in Reception are invited to join their child on their birthday (please contact Libby Lewis the Catering Manager to arrange this).

As a result of our high standard of meals and our good food practices, we have been awarded the Bronze Food for Life for the second time running.

If you would like your child to have an obligatory packed lunch we have a Packed Lunch Policy which helps ensure your children get the nutrition that they need.

We hold a coffee morning every Thursday where parents are welcome to come and sample some of our homemade cakes and biscuits and ask any questions you might have about the kitchen and the food we produce.

If you have any further queries regarding school lunches please email

I’m impressed with the overall improvement in menu and system to ensure that children have a healthy choice and a wide variety.
