Pupil attendance

Good attendance at school is essential. Children who attend school every day are more likely to achieve strong academic outcomes, develop positive social skills, and build secure relationships.

High levels of absence can sometimes indicate that a family may be facing difficulties. For this reason, at Priory we closely monitor pupil attendance and will contact families when absence becomes a concern.

If a child regularly misses school, you may notice the following impacts:

  • Their learning is disrupted and they may fall behind their peers.
  • They struggle to form and maintain secure friendships.
  • They lose confidence in attending school and may become overly reliant on their parents.
  • Their mental health, self-esteem, and confidence can decline significantly.

Please do not allow this to happen to your child. Parents and carers have a legal responsibility to ensure their children attend school regularly. If you are finding it difficult to support your child’s attendance, we encourage you to speak with us as early as possible so we can offer help and guidance.

You can contact us by emailing http://attendanceofficer@prioryschool.com or by calling the main office on 01628 600300 and asking to speak with our attendance officer.
