Every child at Priory belongs to one of our five houses, each named after a tree. Our houses bring together children from different classes, year groups and provisions, helping them feel part of the wider Priory community.
Through the house system, children work together, develop leadership skills and enjoy friendly competition. Every child has opportunities to contribute and celebrate their house’s achievements.
Children earn house points through their learning, effort and positive contributions to school life. Points recognise kindness, good behaviour, participation and the ways children demonstrate our Priory values.
Every contribution matters. Children can support their house through creativity, sport, leadership, friendship and personal achievement, as well as their work in the classroom.
House events take place throughout the year, including activities such as Sports Day and the Easter egg hunt. These give children opportunities to represent their house, work together and earn extra points.
For some events, children may be invited to wear their house colour. We will share the arrangements with families beforehand.
Each week, the house with the most points receives a ball in its house colour, which is added to our whole-school House display. Children can follow their house’s progress throughout the term.
At the end of each term, the house with the most balls earns a shared celebration. This might be a party, an extended play session or a whole-house game, depending on the season and arrangements.
Our house system celebrates collective effort and gives every child the chance to take part, contribute and feel proud to belong.
